Dancing The Continental

There is a lot more going on in St. Louis than I realized before I started this blog. Today, the Grand Center arts and entertainment district had a festival called Dancing in the Street and Off the Wall. There were several stages with local dancers, more about which in the next few days. The highlight was a performance on the walls of the Continental Building (see also yesterday's post) by Project Bandaloop, a group of acro-dancers from Oakland, California. Their vertical ballet 10 or 15 stories up the facade of the building was spellbinding. More about them and other dancers this week.

I once had a friend named Christian who used to climb up the sides of buildings in NY City--with no ropes, it was scary to watch--he was very graceful.

Detroit is a little further north than St. Louis, and we do have some color, but maybe only 5-10%. Some however, is very bright.

How spectacular! I know it happens in Hollywood with the use of a Blue Screen and othr sfx....but this is just great! I think Olivier in Evry showed something like this a while ago. Must be a popular thing for festivals at the moment.

I was wondering if you would have pictures from this amazing event! I just updated my site from the weekend trip to this dance festival and linked here and saw your great photo. I can't wait to see more.

It's amazing how they manage to look so graceful while suspended in mid air.

I passed by this photo earlier in the week thinking they were advertising signs but now I see they are real abseiling dancers. With my neck it isn't something I'd really want to watch but do think it is a tremendous idea.
