Bite Me

.
Bah, humbug. Not far from Steinberg Rink in a secluded corner of Forest Park you'll find something strange. You can't see it from any of the roadways. Tucked between the planetarium and Interstate 64 (more about which tomorrow) are lifesize, semi-realistic models of a tyrannosaurus rex and a triceratops. You know, just hanging out in a grove of trees, waiting to scare small children when they round a bend in a bike path. I think they are very weird and cool. Truth be told, though, they aren't the scariest things in St. Louis. We got places where angels fear to tread (like all American cities).

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN ST. LOUIS THURSDAY NIGHT WHILE I WRITE THIS:
heavy freezing rain. Time to find my slippers and a glass of port.

TOMORROW:
easy rider.

Well, I knew that wasn't one of Santa's reindeer when I saw it on the portal. I would love to see this in person.

Is this what the naughty kids get for Christmas?

Right! I remember these fondly. Pretty wacky, indeed. Wintry stuff up here too, but more snow than sleet thankfully. Had to shovel my way out of a jam in the alley this morning though.

I love this photo. And I'd sure like to see that triceratops sometime (hint, hint). Stay warm Bob!

I kept looking at this, wondering what it was missing and then it came to me. The Santa hat. Of course, I'm not posting Christmas photos - it's too damp to go outside at night - so really, it's okay. Really.
Happy holidays Crowes!

Snapper - the triceratops pixs didn't turn out quite as well. Those files are on a drive at home (I don't bring it to the office to avoid temptation). I can add one to the bottom of this post tonight if I remember it.

PJ - I thought of the same thing! But I decided to go with the straight-deal horrible monster.

Did these escape from the zoo dinosaur exhibit this summer?

Where I used to live in south London there was a park (Crystal Palace Park) which had a load of dinosaurs. They weren't quite as realistic and scary as this one though - they were a bit low-budget.
