WHAT I'M READING: Salman Rushdie's most recent novel, The Enchantress of Florence. Rushdie plays the English language like Horowitz played the piano. The book is riveting (to old Strangetastes, anyway). It is coming out in paperback in the US in early January if you want to save a buck or two.

J'accuse! Funny stuff, pops. I couldn't stick with Enchantress I'm sorry to say. It needed more focus from me than I could give it, at the time at least.

Santa looks, well, shall we say, real. Was that a fake beard or was it his own? Maybe they were onto him and he had to pretend to be Fake Santa? What a predicament!
