This was the theme of one team of make-believe dog sledders at the Idiotarod. It's a meme derived from horror movies, I suppose, and the old belief that clowns frighten small children. At the same time, it's an excuse to look scary-evil without actually doing anything bad. And more evidence that St. Louis (or some of it) loves an excuse to drink beer in the morning.
STL DPB will be on automatic mode the rest of the week. Posts with Idiotarod photos will be uploaded in advance and I won't be able to leave comments. I've got a ton and a half, possibly a ton and three-quarters, of work to do. Friday is a travel day. Fresh posts and comments will resume Saturday night (maybe) or Sunday morning (for sure) our time from Tamarindo, Costa Rica.

Great and colorful portraits, they don't look a bit of wicked! Thanks a lot for your comment, was brilliant. Enjoy your trip in CR.
These clowns would probably pay you to get copies of the portraits. My fave is the first photo.
Not quite the wholesome clowns to bring kids too. Great portraits!
Clear bright colors...you must have a great camera and lens. Actually, they do scare small children; my son was one of them.
I wish I could be as good as this at disguises!
Clowns always creep me out. Clowns with beer spell danger.
Oh la la Bob, this would traumatize Aimee for months haha! Fabulous colour! Hope you're having a fantastic holiday..relax!!
I posted a clown photo last year and was surprised how many people commented that they are afraid of clowns.
Trolls, clowns, zombies, love your portraits. Good luck with all the hard work, getting to Tamarindo will be lovely. You and Mrs. C. can't wait to get there I'm sure!
