Thursday Arch Series

.
I had never noticed that perfect line of three trees in front of the south leg before. You wouldn't see the pattern when they are full of foliage. Such a nice, strong rhythm under a vague sky.

WHAT I'M RUNNING OUT OF: new photos. We may have some odds and ends, some nice finds from the archives. Friday, for example.

TOMORROW:
the presence of Buddha in my office.

There's another new Arch photo
today on Gateway.

When I was living at the Mansion House, I got several photos of the arch with foggy skies. It was fun to photograph it from that vantage point during all the seasons and see the changes.

Yup you're right Bob, the dark silhouettes of the three trees is what does it in this photo. You've done it again. The Thursday Arch series never disappoints.

Running out of photos? I'm sure you'll find a way.

Wow, this is one of my very favorites. THe softness of the branches just makes for a grand composition. Bravo.

Indeedy. I appreciate those sort of framing details a lot.

I'll bet some clever horticulturist is sighing, "at last, someone noticed!"
those trees anchor the behemoth so it doesn't sail away into the fog.
btw, if you find your rapscallion lyrics, by all means email them.

Right on about the trees. Love the atmosphere, too. Foggy here today as well, and I think I have a photo for tomorrow.
