The Delmar Loop is a stretch packed with restaurants, entertainment venues and unusual shops. It lies mostly in University City, so named because most of the main campus of Washington University is within it, and is growing into St. Louis proper. It got the name Loop because years ago there used to be a loop of track where the trolley cars turned around to go back to the city. In 2007, the American Planning Association named the Loop as one of the ten best streets in America. Really. On Saturday, The Loop put on an Ice Carnival. Pretty weenie stuff for you far northern types but fun for us. There were ice sculptures up and down the street. This one showed a lot of imagination.

V: I have nothing against tunes. Just that that are other interesting things to listen to that stretch the definition.
KG: well, in a way. I once wrote a parody version of that song called "I Am The Perfect Advocate Of Poor Disabled Applicants," the lyrics to which should not be published here. I could email then if I can find them.
Ahh....the Tivoli, I saw many movies there. That ice sculpture is inspired!
Interesting ice sculpture - just that everytime I see an ice sculpture I think of whoever did it and how COLD they must have been. I suppose they carve in gloves and how could you do that?
I grew up there (until about age 11)... went to school there...and even worked at the Tiv when I came back to St. Louis in the 90's.
I live in Affton now...
I don't get back there often...because I don't go out...but i'm always passing on Skinker.
