Viewing Art, Making Art, Talking About Art

.
The great hall of the St. Louis Art Museum on New Year's Day. There are at least two people here (besides me) taking photos. So what does this say about St. Louis museum goers? Um, they're white, middle class, of all ages, their children have cell phones and like to take pictures of one another with small cameras. Let's see - how many of those caregories do I fit in?

WHAT WE DID YESTERDAY THAT WE RARELY DO:
went to a movie. Mrs. C. and I maybe make two a year. Such a busy life! But we got out to see
Frost - Nixon yesterday afternoon and holy cow was it good. This movie with the wife thing was kind of fun. We ought to do it again.

TOMORROW:
East Wing

There is a new Arch photo
today on GATEWAY.

It's too early for a rant so don't get me started about the hundreds of idiots at the Louvre, standing in FRONT OF a gorgeous piece of artwork getting their picture made. WHAT IS THE POINT???

SLAM was dressed fit to kill for Christmas. Lovely museum you have there. Would love to see it sometime. Maybe you could take a zillion photos of me in front of all the art.

Lovely photo that tells so much. This would be a place I'd stop if in Saint Louis.

Lucky thing for us all that it was too early for a rant. SLAM looks like a lively place.

I should have done this on New Years Eve or on the first of January but slow that I am, I only get to write today. I want to congratulate you and thank you for the quality of your photos and posts. I love your sense of humor.

You are an inspiration to me. Your choice of 2008 best(s) was excellent but there were so many other photos that I loved. I think the portrait of Joseph Ades whould have been my own favorite.

Your Thursday arch series never ceases to fascinate me: I can't believe you managed to come up with such an amazing variety of quality pictures of it!!!

Thank you again for being who you are. You are definitely at the very top of my favorite CDP blogs.

I guess the folk in your photo are all arted out ...

Frost/Nixon was a good film, wasn't it. I kept wanting the Nixon bits to be B&W and the Frost bits to be colour. I came out feeling a bit sorry for Nixon which annoyed me. There were other strong characters too, which was pleasing. Riveting watching him answer the questions.

Well, we're doing our best to diversify the crowds. Happy New Year
