Thursday Arch Series

.
Arch 2012-04-07 2

Nothing spectacular. This is a view from East St. Louis, Illinois, where the railroad tracks run along the Mississippi. Our area is a big freight junction where several carriers' lines cross. They have a cooperative to haul the freight cars from yard to yard, the Terminal Railroad Association. I love the name, like it's the last one ever. It sounds as if the industry has a terrible disease: after this locomotive passes, the railroad will be dead. Code blue, stat!

Wow. What a great shot of your famous arch. But the red railway is an eye-cather too. Have a nice day.

Dunno about death but at first I thought this was a fire train!

Like the old question, why do they call airport sections 'terminals'? Nasty thought... Love this 'toy' train.

p.s in answer to your question about suits in Perth, there are a lot of snazzy dressers despite the heat, I'm very happy to say P is NOT one of them!!

You waited and waited until a red train came down the tracks?

A stately image. I am trying to envision what you might have had if you had panned the train, or slowed the speed to let the train's motion show, or had used bokeh, or . . . . .
