Expecto Resurrectionem Mortuorum

.
Carrie We Love U

This spot is on my way home from work almost every day. It's on S. 7th Street, just as you go onto the ramp for Interstates 44 and 55. Only this past week did the white crossbar catch the corner of my eye. The next night I paid more attention and could make out the word "murdered" as I rolled by. Yesterday I stopped for a closer look.

It looks pretty new although it memorializes an event more than two years ago. Not at all a lonely, secluded spot. The sentiment brought back up at this late date could make you cry. I thought it would be a good post for today. Jesus was murdered. The chance of new life for him or for Carrie is a question, gentle reader, that I leave up to you.

One normally sees these for traffic accidents. Whatever the unnatural or early cause of death, it is tragic.

Last Sunday Julie and I went over to the house of a frined to help her set up for a party and and to clean up afterwards, as she has MS and needs a cane. Her husband was one of our best friends. A class act in every respect. Cheerful. Full of life. In his late 50's.

3 years ago he contracted a rare brain disease, the first such case in Arizona. Within a month he was gone. The gathering of friends last Sunday was a lovely afternoon, but everything in the house reminds us of him, how much we (and especially his widow, of course) miss him, and how unfair life can seem by being cut short.

It is gratifying that he and his wife travelled to Italy with us a few years before he passed away. They described it as the trip of a lifetime, but they deserved a much longer lifetime.

Thank you for a post that prompted this therapy.

Such a poignant image Bob, the teddy bear, the words are horrific, something no parent ever wants to contemplate!

A thought of sympathy for those who remember Carrie.
