This photo is about six months old, taken when shutdowns and quarantines were really beginning to bite. This young man set up shop next to the great statue of St. Louis in Forest Park, a natural meeting place, without a mask. I am sorry to say that many people here do not follow health officials' advice. Whenever I pass through the park on a nice Saturday, I see many wedding parties at the usual photo stops, clumped together and no one wearing masks.
The incidence of infection is moderate in St. Louis City and County. It's much worse in the outlying areas, where local hospitals are overwhelmed and sending patients here.

not the sight I could have seen over here. can't say I disagree with the facts stated.
We need to bring this thing to a close, and misinformation doesn't help.

So sad. I still don't know why it is so hard for people to understand.
I recommend a more positive approach found in the following article from the Greater Good Magazine published at Berkley, How I’m Finding Purpose and Connection in a Pandemic. Instead of hanging out try the following:
* Find purpose in service
* Make meaningful connections
* Have a purposeful lockdown
We have a similar situation here. We have lots of people who are being aggressive toward people wearing masks, calling them stupid or suckers. They are usually the stupid suckers who follow you know who!
I like Denton's comment. I comfort myself by saying "Well, at least the committee I'm on is making some progress." We meet by Zoom and email.
I sure miss hanging out with people though. And I resent the people who are spreading the disease instead of helping to stop it.
Ha! Loneliness Stats! Where are the stats on how lonely people feel when they lose their loved ones? Sorry, I find it hard to be patient sometimes.
