Big Suit

.
Big Suit 1

Something new has been added. Big Suit, by the Austrian artist Erwin Wurm, is the only additional sculpture brought into Citygarden since it opened about two years ago. I suspect that it was part of the original plan but production was delayed. The pedestal you see below was there at the opening, empty. People wondered if it was a too-subtle sculpture just by itself. Now we know its purpose.

Many of the works in Citygarden are, by turns, wry, sardonic or funny-scary. This empty costume continues the theme.

TOMORROW: bagpipes can drive you mad. Everybody knows that.

Those trews look as though they could do with braces, purple ones, of course.

I cannot help but be amused to see one of "the suits" in pink without his head. Very amusing!!

Love the 'too subtle sculpture' comment Bob, bet you all never expected a 'Big Suit' and a pink one at that! I like it!!
So that's what happened to me then, too much bag pipes when I was young (being Scottish y'see!!) haha!

I just don't know about this B. Call me a cynic or a redneck but that's the dumbest excuse for art I've ever seen. No, I take that back. Not the dumbest. THe dumbest was the giant gold flower pot at the Pompidou. They took it away you know. Now it's up on the roof. Geessshh.

This is so cool! You made me smile with the (empty) too-subtle sculpture thing. :-) Fantastic portraits on the previous posts!

Are you sure the sculptor isn't referring to empty suits? You know, these artists are subversive . . .

At least the title is descriptive.

Not the best cut - perhaps the author should have asked for help from a French haute couture guru?

Fun though.
