Tattoo You

Ethnic festivals in St. Louis not only have entertainment and food, they also have marketing. Anyone who wants to sell something to the attendees and can pay for a booth might be there. The Hispanic Festival had people trying to sell newspaper subscriptions, cellular phone service and home remodeling. This mannequin with all-over tattoos was trying to draw people's attention.

Tattoos seem to be a generational thing in the US. I'm in my late 50s and middle class. No one I know in my category has any. My 30 year old daughter has a bunch of them and my 27 year old son says he is giving it serious consideration. I find them unattractive and disfiguring. A good-looking human body is fine the way it was delivered. Obviously many people feel quite the opposite. It's one thing to have a tattoo on a young, fit body but quite another thing 30 years later.
What's your attitude about tattoos?

J'adore regarder les tatouages, je trouve cela superbe, mais deja que je tourne de l'oeil quand on me fait une simple prise de sang ;o).

I adore to look at tattooings, I find that superb, but already that I turn of the eye when one makes me a simple blood test; O).

I don't mind a tatoo on someone here or there but not totally covering the whole body. But, it's up to them, it's their body. My two son's each have one. I have thought about one once or twice by the ankle but have never did it.

I think in this point of view I agree with you. I don't find tattoo is apealing to me. But in the other hand I have to give credit for people who have endured such pain with their body with tatto.

The only tattoos I ever enjoyed were military and held on the forecourt of Edinburgh Castle.

(Every bit as colourful as your picture though)

I'm with you - can't stand them. I especially hate when they appropriate other cultures - eg Maori - and have them done without any understanding and completely culturally inappropriately. Grrrr.

An interesting debate always, and most people usually have a definite opinion on tattoos.I certainly agree with Sally about culturally inappropriate tats. However, i am a 50-something woman and I have a tat, as do several of my 40- and 50 -something female friends. Many of us had them to mark a milestone of sorts. They are mostly in fairly discreet places too ;)

I definitely LOVE tatoos ! My boyfriend's got tatoo, many of my friends too and I've even have a friend who's became a tatooist. I've been thinking about getting one (well, 2 actually) myself for a few years now.

I love tattoos! I do tattoos! I think the more tattoos a person has the more interesting they can be. A full body suit tattoo is not only a great acheivement but also tells alot about the person wearing it.

Wow the tattoos are amazing.. Isn't that what we call as body painting? I do like to have some of like that. i thought the lady with the tattoo is true, its just a mannequin.
