Unlike so many American cities, St. Louis has a small Hispanic population. Cherokee Street, where the People's Joy Parade is held, is its center, so the parade and Cinco de Mayo festival blend into one another. The bottom picture, by the way, is in front of a car repair shop.

Boy, has Cherokee Street changed since I used to hang out there in the late '60s and early '70s!
I like all of these images Bob, but the third one made me go back and study it again.
Hartford has a Hispanic mayor. In the 1980s and 1990s, the blacks were the dominant political force. In 2001 the first Hispanic mayor was elected and now it is hard to imagine that any other group can muster the votes to ascend the power structure.
