This was taken a few minutes before a winter sunset from the wheel of my car, stopped at a red light on Market Street. One of my best Arch shots in a while, IMHO. The air was so clear and the light so intense that the sunshine caromed off the stainless steel and made the pavement shine. The pattern of the building at the left, which has a polished granite and glass facade, is inverted by the shadow of a larger building off camera to the right. The picture was unplanned. Be ready, keep your eyes open.

on dirait que l'arche est comme un soleil qui se lève ;) et beau reflet sur le premier batiment
Brilliant. But where are the traffic jams?
Re. Yule: I'd have thought Nordic/Germanic?
Stunning shot Bob, I would be over the moon if I'd taken it..The left side of the Arch looks like red hot tempered steel! Unplanned pictures are sometimes the very best kind, as you don't have time to over think it. Well done indeed!!
Great shot of the arc but it looks like it is growing out of the building right. I don't know if I like that or not.
truly gorgeous, bob!
I never would have imagined that the sun reflecting off the Arch could cast a sheen on Market Street. Stunning.
Yeah, Bob, one of your best Arch shots, although I really love almost all your Arch shots. I have sat at that very same stoplight, but, alas, none of my shots from there have this magic.
Sometimes the impromptu shots are the best. You're right B, this is a winner!

Really cool photo Bob! To answer your question my photo was processed in Photoshop Elements with a conversion to black and white using infrared setting to bring out more contrast among the trees. The one tree was the only element that looked infrared thought which I liked.
Yes, it is a good shot.
Truly spectacular !!!
Once again I'm in awe.
I'm back again to look at this one. I really love it.
Just SUPERB!
