CDPB Monthly Theme Day: Corner/Neighborhood Store

What does a neighborhood market mean to you? Perhaps a place that knows what you like, has a great selection, competitive prices and calls you by name. That, my friends, adds up to one special shop for me, amazon.com. I want it, they probably got it, and at a good discount, too. Salman Rushdie's new novel was published last week? It was in my office 48 hours later, shipping gratis (because they like me so much). Looking for that obscure recording by Annie Gosfield or Amy X. Neuburg? Just enter it in the search field. It's so comforting that when I log in it says, Hello, Bob. We have recommendations for you, unfailingly leading to something of interest.

Readers of this blog who would like to support its work are invited to visit my wish list, above, and send me something nice. Just to encourage future efforts, you know? Click on the picture to enlarge it and see the details.

I like amazon too - a good pal who knows what I like. Though, she sometimes confuses my taste with that of my husband or son. Though, I guess good friends think about whole families. Still, sometimes it just needs to be all about me, you know? Oh well. Friends are just human. Sort of. ;)

Very creative take on the theme! One of my fav stores too.

Ha - I'll bet your computer screen has corners. Very clever.

Ha, ha! You know, I thought of this too, since Amazon really is my corner store. I guess you and I are keeping them in business. The only thing that stopped me from taking "their" picture is that I thought I'd like to include a real person, so I chose my newspaper man!

Clever shot---and check out my blog tomorrow for something that will interest you as a lawyer...

HA! You are an easy guy to please based on your Amaazon Wish-List. :-)

To respond to your question about The Butcher Shop, it is on 41st Street near Queens Blvd. It's been around for ages, I'm told. The original store was smaller and on the south side of Queens Blvd. on 42nd Street. That store burned down and a new one was built near me.

I thought there might be someone who'd be shopping online and I'm not surprised it's you.

Amazon does have something of a "Corner" on the market. Interesting and creative choice for theme day!

Haha!

Does that mean we live in the same neighborhood?

Welcome, my new cyber neighbour!

Happy Theme Day!

I like the subtle suggestion of your wishlist, lol.
I find them quite convenient: I use Amazon.fr or birthday gift to my brother & my dad. However, they are really not great on the French book side. If a book is just published, if it is not by an ultra famous author or an ultra famous publishing house, it's probably not there. Same thing for the French films. i know, I must be picky.

Oh brilliant, Strangetastes! I'd have expected no less from you. Love your up to the minute take on Theme Day.

Way to think outside of the box! I LOVE Amazon -- no, really. I exclusively did all of my Christmas shopping online with them for the past 2 years. You could not beat the prices I got! Being you mentioned to the 2-day delivery, you must be a PRIME member -- me too! It is SOOOO worth the money.
