A diner towards the edge of downtown in late afternoon sun. Someone goes to the trouble to keep the paint fresh and the facade very clean.
There is an unusual back story to this eatery. If interested, you can read about it in this old post.
May have trouble getting posts up for a bit. Tomorrow is a travel day and it's a sentimental journey, as you will see.

Interesting story indeed but I prefer the dinners made of old train wagons. It still looks indeed very clean.
Great story. Wonderful post Bob.
I've always liked the old greasy-spoon diners!
It reminds me of one in a neighbourhood I once lived in- the place is still there, as I was there some days back.
I remember this place very well and I remember that movie. I believe the guy in that movie was James Spader. This post brought back some memories of my time in St. Louis. My little group of friends that I worked with used to frequent a tiny diner called "Eat Rite" when I worked there. It was a great place to stop for a greasy breakfast after hitting a few night spots until the wee hours. The woman that worked the counter had a giant beehive hairdo and we called her Flo although I know that wasn't her name. I still have an old coffee mug from there with the words "Eat Rite or Don't Eat at All" on it. It serves as a pen & pencil holder on my kitchen counter.
It was James Spader and Susan Sarandon.
Great structure and a great image with the bright white rectangle set against a dark background. Have fun on your trip, wherever you go.
