On the wall beside the Donald Judd work Madeleine examined in yesterday's post, our art museum displays a painting by one of my favorite contemporary artists, Frank Stella. This is an example of the striking style from his earlier career, sometimes known as the protractor series.
Every time I walk past this I think of iconic Mickey Mouse ears. It draws me back to the days of the Mickey Mouse Club. Stella is 78, a bit old for that, but still that shape, the black outline. It makes me wonder.

Yup I can see it Bob :) Thanks for the link to his work, amazing portfolio of colours and shapes.
I absolutely see that!
I just see the colours, but that's me.
I love his work too! Nice one.
Great work. I have seen Stella paintings many times, but this is the best I can remember.
