Southeast corner of Market and Broadway downtown. I thought I had seen this last summer but I was out on a business errand - no time to stop and take a picture. Later searches drew a blank. These things are hard to spot. Then, while walking back from the Arch to my car last weekend, it caught my eye.
Hades tiles are based on the classic Toynbee design but many have more decorative elements. Note the traffic signal on the right of this one. Similarly, see this and this one, also in downtown St. Louis. All that pink on the top and left is mysterious. Mrs. C views it as the bare legs and netherland of a woman. The topic needs much more scholarly research.
I must work harder . .
Thursday Arch picture tomorrow.

tu as raison, il faut faire plus de recherches et travailler sur le sujet de ces jambes nues ;))
Looks like legs to me.
I think I agree with Mrs. C.
'Netherlands' of a woman you say Bob, that is hilarious...but now that you mention it haha!
I'm in agreement with Mrs. C - nice to see you mentioned in the article the other day in the Post-Dispatch! i was getting ready to forward to you (I was only halfway through) and then realized you were quoted!
Netherleands and on the right a stop light. and on the top a torso. Perhaps it a was a Mucha-esque woman lounging across the text area at one time but her head was lost.
I've checked all three and this is the coolest. Mrs. C is right, I guess. :-)
I agree with Mrs. C as far as the legs are concerned and will not comment nor contemplate about the rest of her observation, as that would be risque for a Midwestern sidewalk.
I'm in agreement with Mrs. C. on this one... don't tell former Congressman Akin about that, or he'll blow a gasket.
The Loo is getting pretty racy . . .
