We Interrupt Our Regularly Scheduled Programming...

.
2011-02-01 Ice And Snow 3

American TV weather reporters like to whip the public up into a frenzy. Must be good for ratings. Around here, they almost always overestimate the bad stuff. We had freezing rain all day Tuesday but little snow. It was way worse to the north and west.

The pictures of Union Station are set aside for the moment. Instead, let's look at a bit of what caused STL to nearly shut down yesterday. Above, playground equipment in a local park. Below, a robin who seems much too fat for this time of year, oblivious to the storm; ice coated evergreens; and the Missouri Department of Transportation hard at work on Interstate 44.

belle série, j'aime la photo de l'oiseau, le pauvre il est frigorifié. En réponse à ta question, la salle Gerard Philippe est une salle de spectacle et de concert

Wow, that first photo is sure an eye-catcher....and that is one fat robin...

I was complaining that it was cold here (-8C), but yours is worse.

Drop by for a piece of cake today...

no bloviation here...the weather forecasters were afraid to even commit to number of inches (feet) and with the snow now piling up around our waists, i understand why.

See you braved a broken hip to get some good shots. I like the ones on your FLICKR site as well.

Wow and I thought our 39 degrees was cold :)
Your dry humour amuses me - a Tucson store in Chicago :)

I am catching up with the storms of snow and ice that have been visited upon vast swathes of the USA. Do take care as you move around ...

I do like that robin. Gorgeous bird - gorgeous photograph.

Bird fluffs feathers to keep out cold; it ain't fat, far from it.

Ooooooh, love the Robin!

Weather guys/gals are trying too hard these days to be rock stars. Although I find ice storms worse than snow!
