Bicycle Race

Unlike our lucky CDPB colleagues in places like Paris and New York, I have to get out on the streets every weekend looking for material to feed this monster. So I went out cruising Sunday, taking local roads through Webster Groves, the suburb where I live, into the city proper and ran across this. Eeeerkk, into a parking lot and whip out camera bag. I have no experience in sports photography. This is what I came up with - could have been sharper. Keep that shutter speed fast.

TOMORROW: Bull's eye.

belle photo de cette course de vélo, je trouve que c'est un sport qui n'est pas facile à prendre en photo.

beautiful picture of this bike race, I think it's a sport that is not easy to take a photo.

Impressive job for a first timer. :-)

I have a point-and-shoot and it's almost always set on high speed mode. But I doubt my camera is powerful enough to catch the action.

I am laughing at your comment about "feeding this monster." I totally agree. I am into week 2 of Birmingham, Alabama Daily Photo and I have had the same thoughts as you about Paris and New York! Yikes, I am having to dig for photos. Good thing I just retired, this is a full time job! I won't resort to bike racing because I could never capture a shot as great as yours! I will stop by again. Nice blog.

I too have this problem of not living in a city, or even medium sized town.
Feeding the monster is quite apt. All I will say is I think our smaller places, can in a way offer a rather unique perspective. from someone who is used to photographing motorbikes I know it's not easy and you've caught the lean of those bikes so well.
