I'm Home

The whole family left my sister's house in New Jersey for dinner in New York Thursday night, a great Cuban restaurant on 8th Avenue near W. 56th Street. After dinner, we walked to Rockefeller Center. This is the main entrance to Radio City Music Hall on 6th Avenue.

It was exhilarating. This city is my native land. I spent my childhood and adolescence here before leaving for college in St. Louis. There is no place like it on earth (right, Olivier?). I am home.

TOMORROW: It might be Brooklyn. It might be Manhattan. I haven't decided yet. Anybody have a preference?

That is a great feeling, isn't it. I can "hear" the longing in your voice! wonderful photo, too.

When I saw this on the Daily City Blog site, I thought "That's not St. Louis."

Great colors and I like the contrast of the tall buildings and the people. What lens are you shooting with?

I hope you had a good time. It's fun to travel, but nice to be back home too.

Perfect night scene! Love the city lights. Some day I'll make it to New York.

To answer your question about lighting on my macros; the lighting was from the chandelier above the tabble, and from the flame of the floating candle. I had to adjust my wife's point and shoot cam the best I could, omn macro and resting it on the table for stability. Not too bad of a macro for a point and shoot camera.

I'm still debating between a Nikon or Canon DSLR...Rebel XTI is quite affordable.

It's so good to touch the green green grass of home !
I know this feeling when I get back to where I belonged (Paris or a little city in its suburbs called Montreuil sous Bois).

I agree! NYC is an awesome city.

Sorry I had to cancel our meeting. Hopefully, we can meet up the next time you're in town.
