There have been many pictures of Kiener Plaza in the nearly nine year run of this blog. It won't be
around that much longer, at least in its present form. The plans for
restoration of the Arch grounds extend into downtown. The plaza will be
ripped up and replaced with something different. We'll see if it is an improvement.
One
of the fixtures is the statue of The Runner, plowing through a fountain
in the warmer months. In the winter, agile visitors can climb up the
base for family snaps. My knees wouldn't make it up that high.

I'll hate to see the Plaza go. I worked downtown for over eight years, and spent a lot of lunch hours there.
Can't stop change...
Having people in the shot does reinforce the height. The scale of the statue reminds me of our national fire fighter's monument, where the statue is considerably larger than life.
A cute place for a photo op!
