Time to get to some pix from this year's Renaissance Faire. People, sometimes called cast members, wander around in all sorts of strange costumes, not necessarily having to do with the 15th and 16th Centuries. This one is eerie, but if you are old enough you may recognize it as one of the Spy Vs. Spy characters from Mad Magazine.

Cool. I read Mad all the time when I was a kid.
I thought it was familiar!
That's what I need to go to the office next morning.
Oh, I thought it was one of the Commedia dell Arte characters!
Oh, I hadn't thought of that. Didn't they wear sunglasses instead of goggles? I was thinking it was meant to look like one of those 15th century Venetian plague masks. Perhaps too much of a stretch on my part.
Brilliant! What a figure.
Indeed he is! Thanks for the reveal, however, because I would never have remembered that on my own.
This is a beauty, Bob. And I regret having to say that I am old enough to remember Mad very well.
I don't know the character Bob, but I do find that mask strangely appealing :)
