The frame is fancier than the sign. My guess is that the lettering is a replacement for whatever was there originally.
I rather like the contrast between the modern glass block, the back alley bars and the fancy sign!!!

There's a lot going on here on this wall Bob..a bit like your life I'm guessing..take some time to chill, even though I seem to remember you find that hard to do :)
