Every Picture Tells A Story

2013 Idiotarod 27

Photography teachers drill into you the idea that a picture should tell a story. I've never understood how an image frozen in time can contain a story's exposition, central action and a conclusion. At least that's how I understand the nature of a story. It only takes a few images, though, to create a narrative like the following.

The theme of this Idiotarod entry was Wrestlemania. It is the premier event in American professional wrestling. It's not a sport. It is staged, scripted low drama, safe violence for the masses. Mayhem and dirty tricks are required. This group did a good satirical imitation, smashing people from behind with folding chairs and kicking them when they're down. The pix below are in time sequence.

The person in the top photo is playing Hulk Hogan, one of the main characters of the show (for want of a better word). Note that it's a woman.

There's a saying in Dutch: kleine kindren mezuhdzein (close enough)... it means small children at play....
