Party time in The Lou! We had our annual Mardi Gras parade yesterday, full of color, silliness and excuses to start drinking at 10 in the morning. (An older example here.) Again, it's nothing like New Orleans but it ain't bad, full of enthusiasm and good for the city.
I had extraordinary luck with the street portraits. These are just the first two - the color contrast is pretty good. There is a new set on Flickr here about twenty more as of the moment. More and more will be added as I have time to edit. I took 1,333 shots yesterday, threw out 600-and-something in the first cut and have lots more work to do.
I'm going to run with these pix all week. Come next Saturday there will be a radical change of scene.

Fantastic! Both of them.
The painting on my yesterday post is not by Tom Wesselmann, but I see why you have mentioned him. :-)
Nice teeth! Excellent "couple".
Blimey Bob, 1333 shots, good luck sorting through the remaining 733, looking forward to seeing your choices!
I'd love to take part in this. Like 'em better than dogs too.
Terrific lively shots, Bob!
Your bottom portrait of the Red Man is terrific.
And this is what people in St. Louis normally look like. Don't drink the water.
The Red Man is outstanding.
I can imagine the photographer's dream that this event must be. We have no equivalent in Avignon. No carnival here.
