In The Good Old Summertime (Citygarden)

.
I wonder if the people who planned Citygarden foresaw how parts of it would be used as a public swimming pool for children. The authorities clearly don't object, so perhaps this was part of the plan. It's one of the many reasons the place has become an instant hit with St. Louisans.

I'm glad the authorities don't object — everyone seems to be having so much fun! It would be a pity to lose that.

Why's everyone in red? ;)

There's a founntain/water feature at Sydney Olympic Park that acts as an impromptu pool like this. Love the kids having fun.

I wish I could too! A bit shallow and crowded for me though!

HA, that does look like fun. I"m not even going to ask if there's chlorine in there. Yikes.

I believe every city exposed to summer heat should provide some form of F.O.C. fun access to water for those residents who don't have a pool. I see it as a mandatory public service, just like public transport.
This looks like my idea of fun. Oh summer days!
