Sado Island, off Niigata in the Sea of Japan, was once a remote place of exile. Being sent there was the harshest punishment the shogunate could dispense short of death. It's now a lovely place of tourism and the culture of premium rice. We had a rental car - I drove in Japan and lived to tell the tale. Well, it's not like I did it in Tokyo.
Speaking of which, on Monday we're back to the capital for one last night and them home Tuesday. It's been a long time very far from home.

S.T.,
Lord I thought we'd never see or hear from you again! What a gorgeous place. The shot of the surf is amazing, but you're right, the color is off. Smarter folks than moi will have to deal with the BLogger issue. I will say that I have had a few problems but not photo quality. I am not even going to comment on the lunacy of driving in Japan. You're still alive thankfully.
Surely there's a burger waiting on you in Tokyo.
Have a safe trip home.

I have other blogger issues but not so far the image issue. It appears we all have a different problem with blogger. The help gruops on the blogger foum are quite useful, but as for blogger themselves never seem to get a relpy. Very serene images, despite the colour, the overall atmosphere shines through.
I say just post em on flickr and refer to the images there in your posts...
PS that second shot is pretty damn dramatic despite whatever reduction in quality. Would definitely like to see that as you intended.
