Christmas Is A Time For Giving

Look carefully at the sign in the window. The contrast is poor but check it out. It's not really a product of the times. In fact, it's very old. See Matthew 26:11. It was about 6F/-14.5C when I took the picture.

Found on Cherokee at Jefferson.

Good idea with so much surplus in production and in our cupboards but still it shouldn't been necessary.

Yikes, It doesn't often get that cold in St. Louis, does it? I like this project.

You definitely don't want to see people without warm clothes in the winter. Every little donation helps someone. When we lived in Maine, my wife knitted and crochet warm hats and donated them. She also put tags on some of them and placed them around town. The tags on the hats said they were free and warm so please take me home. One day she saw someone wearing one of her hats.

It is a good idea. Bill's remark reminds me of regular occasions when a knitted scarf or hat can be found on one of the many statues around with a note saying they're for those who need them.

I don't think I've ever seen a statue wearing a hat "for whoever needs it" here. But we do see donation boxes appearing more and more. I've seen one in Lyon and I know there are others in many towns. People place whatever they no longer need in them and whoever wants it takes it. I love the idea.
