A Final Note From San Francisco

.
Gotta get out and shoot some new local material. For now, a final image from San Francisco. In how many cities could you find this? This man sat on the sidewalk of The Embarcadero outside the Ferry Building. He provided poetry, much lacking in contemporary Western life, upon request. You tell him what it's worth to you. He will accept your donation, large or small, and summon the muse to his old manual typewriter. Art when you need it, whether rich or poor. That's poetry.

Finally, there is a new Arch photo on Gateway.

Your photo is poetry. Your story is poetry. I've never seen it. What an impressive shot. I'm deeply touched.

We had one here in Brattleboro, too. I was fascinated by him and took scores of images, some of which I posted. Did you commission a poem?

Truly we need more poetry. Thank you Bob, this is a great reminder of that.

Puhlleeease tell me you bought a poem from this guy! I'm dying to know what his poems are like. Talk about pressure! I'd have to resort to the 3rd grade acrostic poems! HA Gotta love that typewriter too.

I'm with Virg. Don't leave us hanging. I'll bet more than 50 percent of his requests are love poems.

(Wonder if he makes a living, and if there's a franchise in LA.)

This is both a beautiful and sad post. How in heaven's name does one make a living like that?

I love this street art idea. Good for him! I hope he does well. Can't say much for the green plastic tarp, though -:)

How brilliant! I'd love to have met him and given him a project. Love the shot.

Good for him. I would have definitely 'bought' one. Didja, didja?

(It's me, Bibi, from a different account.)
