MADELEINE MONDAY

A study in concentration and color choices. The art museum's Matisse-themed evening invited children like Ellie to color a turtle, a main visual element in SLAM's best known Matisse painting, https://www.slam.org/collection/objects/5335/ . Once done coloring, the kids were invited to go on a visual scavenger hunt, looking for images that might relate to turtles. Maybe not a good idea since you would have to search every hall and galley. It didn't appeal to our kid.

Running around a museum as a kid, I remember that, not much fun. Painting sounds more fun.

Though the focal point of attention in the painting is a turtle, it's interesting that the 3 nude women aren't included in a coloring project. Wow for even having kids color turtles from a painting with 3 nude women!
