A LINGERING TASTE OF SUMMER

Bees are gone from from the fields by this time of year but their products remain. The design and colors of the table cloth look very Provencal to me.

Doesn't honey look so beautiful and jewel-like? My grandparents used to come to visit from Florida when I was a little girl and at breakfast they would drizzle beautiful golden honey over toast with butter and they always fixed some for me. I think for all of those years the sun was always streaming into the window shining through that honey as they drizzled it onto my toast.

It looked so good, and tasted so good, but then for the next few hours I would have a horrible, doubled up, laying in the bed belly ache. I ate that honey one time every hear they visited, and had the same result. I haven't eaten honey since I have been an adult but oh, I am always so tempted to try just one more time.

I always buy locally made honey.
