I got so many good pictures in Death Valley today but, again, it's late, and I only have time to edit one. This is Badwater, the lowest place in North America, 282 feet / 85 m below sea level. The salt flats seem to go on forever.
There is nowhere like Death Valley in the world. You cannot appreciate its vastness and emptiness unless you visit. It is the US's largest national park and our favorite place to go to clear our heads. More pix when I can work them up.

Been to Death Valley a couple of times and that's true you can't appreciate the scope until you're there.
I love places like Badwater, which are certainly aptly named.

This is a wonderful shot! It really shows the beauty of this place. I've heard many people say there isn't any beauty there but, they are wrong. It is a beautiful place.
Haven't been there yet, but it really has a stark beauty to it!
There's a footrace called Badwater that goes from there to the highest point in the continental US - Mt. Whitney. It's a 100 mile race run in the hottest month of the year.

I have never been to Death Valley. It is an interesting choice for a favorite place.
You can get some sense of space and size from you image Bob, but I reckon standing under those huge skies would be the thing that's hard to capture.
