Skyline With Recycling Center

.
I'm sticking with the gritty urban theme today. Like many American cities, it is not unusual here to see to see down-and-out people carrying huge plastic sacks or pushing shopping carts full of aluminum cans. This is where they go. There is a little building on the lot under the sign where the metal is weighed and a small amount of cash paid. Just another part of the urban economy.

For the locals, this is on Chouteau between Grand and Compton.

TOMORROW: Thursday Arch Series.

Wonderful B&W photo, Bob. It's suitable for the motive. By the way: I have given you an award! Please stop by my blog (stuttgart-daily-photo.blogspot.com) to receive it. Greetings.

Excellent bw photo and story, too. Now I am wondering where the gypsy recyclers here take their metal and paper. Must find out....and photograph...

I'll bet every town has a location like this. Recycling definitely keeps our streets cleaner.

A CDP meet up would be fun. Can you email the schedule for your trip? My computer won't cooperate with your email link. Grrr.

Gritty Urban is right! Recycling. Chain link fence. Wires. Poles. Old building, perhaps no longer used in the background. Mottled sky. B&W. This image has it all!
