On a few Saturday mornings in the spring and summer, the Gateway Arch Foundation puts on a program for children in Kiener Plaza. We took Ellie down last weekend. One of the big features was yoga for children. We got her a kid-size mat and she loved it. After returning home, we found that there are a lot of children's yoga videos on YouTube. She spent much of the afternoon watching and imitating. Namaste!

Manhattan - High Line - 16,592 Steps - My French Is Terrible
LONG day with Olivier. We met on Roosevelt Island (never been there before), a long, thin residential sliver in the East River. Then took the tram to Manhattan. Then subway to the High Line. Then walk and walk and walk. Then to the Whitney Museum.
The health app on my iPhone says I took 16,592 steps, probably a one-day record for me. My legs hurt - Olivier is in better shape. I think I'm hot stuff when in France because I can get something to eat or drink, buy something, pay the bill and, on a good day, ask directions in the street. But general conversation with a Frenchman? Non. Olivier's English is equivalent to my French and it was a struggle at times. The noise level of the city didn't help. We tested Google Translate's bandwidth.
These shots only scratch the surface of what I took yesterday.

Sun Salute
I didn't know Pinocchio was a yoga practitioner. Looks like he greets the orb with the Sun Salute from his platform in Citygarden every morning, rain or shine. It's not like he moves much.
Yoga and I are not a good combination. Yeah yeah yeah it has all kinds of benefits but I am one of the least physically flexible and coordinated people you are likely to meet. A few years ago a friend dragged me to a yoga class. The only pose I was able to successfully perform was the Corpse. It's one that comes naturally to everyone.
