I love Jim Dine's statue of Pinocchio in Citygarden. The puppet who wanted to be a real boy had a problem: every time he told a lie his nose grew longer. This image suggests there have been a couple of whoppers. But look at the posture, the gesture, the body language. Whatever he has said, he's proud of it and seeking adulation. What person, recently off the national stage, does this remind us of?

One former President...
A friend said something practically unbelievable and I answered "her nose must be growing." She then told me she was serious, and I had to backpedal from my first impression. The lier in chief continues just to believe himself, and somehow has convinced thousands (millions?) of people that his lies are true. It's quite a phenomenon!
But Pinocchio was capable of becoming a better person!
I won't say the name but I see what you mean.
Yep, don't like repeating that name either. It is a great statue though!
