When I think of zip lines the image I get is of cables strung high in the canopies of Costa Rican forests. Well, you don't need tropical mountains or even a hill. Flat Delmar Boulevard will do just fine.
The Ice Carnival brought in a mobile zip line contraption. People stood in line to climb a tower, get strapped into a harness and shoot off to a low platform a block away. Pretty cool. I may run some more of these.

I've done zip lining in many places, but never over a city street. Looks fun though!
Excellent to take photos of Bob, not so much to do :)
These are great!
When I was in Costa Rica with Julie several years ago, I decided I wanted to do a zip line. I had images of flying on top of a lush canopy of trees. Instead the place we went seemed to have wide open spaces between the trees. Looking down to the ground far, far below seems a lot scarier than looking down at the green of the tree tops. I made it through all the stations but, I doubt I will ever do it again. I especially wouldn't do it over a busy street.
I've done it a couple of times. There's been a line set up over in a children's play area for Winterlude, though it's only set up for kids.
No way...
That would be fun to try.
No bleeping way, Bob.
