We have a little one-day Oktoberfest in our Soulard neighborhood. Last Saturday the oom-pah band and beer were flowing freely. One participant was getting an early jump on Halloween. If you've had enough German brew, why not dance with the undead?

Undead But Upright
Zombies on parade in the Mardi Gras procession. The one in the second pic has a beer cup in her hand. How would a zombie, being at least a facsimile of dead, enjoy alcohol? An acquaintance observed that the one on top is a typical Boston Red Sox fan - that's the hat he is wearing. (Sorry, Birdman.) I don't understand why lots of people think it's fun to be scary, amusing to be dead and not dead at the same time (except maybe for Schrödinger's Cat, which isn't so much amusing as incomprehensible). Why promote fake terror? There's so much of the real stuff around.
STL DPB is pre-posted through Friday. Can't wait to get out of here. Our romantic Valentine's dinner will be on an airplane (I blew some award miles to upgrade). Wonder if American Airlines will have roses for the ladies?
