TRAPPED

Haven’t been out on the street in several days. It’s just too hot. So, one more from the City Museum. There is a dome on top of the roof topped by a 24 foot / 7.3 meter praying mantis. Slinky-like tubes for kids to climb through are all around. This boy looks like he might become lunch.

TIME TO COME HOME AND LOOK AT A GIANT STEEL PRAYING MANTIS

There are more pix from London that I should edit but it's time to come home. (London album at https://www.flickr.com/photos/bobcrowe/albums/72177720302907668 with more to add.)  Two days after we returned Ellie had a fall break four day weekend. We took her to STL's unique, wacky City Museum. The uppermost roof deck is topped with a huge metal praying mantis. After all, why not.

IDOLATRY

The very peak of the old building that houses the City Museum, perhaps 15 stories over the street. I suppose that's a praying mantis on top, perhaps beseeching the gods to find the Cardinals some pitchers who can throw strikes. You can reach the top of this dome by one of the museum's innumerable climbing tubes but there is also a ramp that comes up from the back. That's son Andy standing  in the center, holding grandson Atlas. Daughter-in-law Claire is to Andy's left. No idea who that guy is waving at the world.
