ALIEN LIFE FORMS

Lighting courtesy of the St. Louis Aquarium. This is a photo stop every time I take the kids through but the colors are always different.

CITY DAILY PHOTO NOVEMBER THEME - SOFT

From the St. Louis Aquarium. Soft on the eyes and undoubtedly soft to the touch, although I wouldn't stick my hand into the tank even if there were a way to do so. And maybe this is a way to represent soft sound. There is hardly any sound at all.

ANOTHER WORLD

There is a jellyfish tank at the St. Louis Aquarium. Nothing else in it besides the creatures and dark walls. They often shine colored lights on them for an oh wow effect--the original of this picture was in blues--but to me nothing captures their fine structure and other-worldliness better than simple black and white.

I COULDN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF THEM

So I might as well post another. There was a placard that identified the species and where it's from but I didn't make a note of it. Next time. The coloration was so striking with the yellow, red and black that the lighting must have been designed to take the best advantage of it. Hard to believe this is a living creature,

OTHERWORLDLY

Jellyfish at the St. Louis Aquarium. The light was a gift. You need the brightness on your monitor  up fairly high to appreciate the color and detail.
