4,000th Post

Amazing but true. As some people say, I ought to have my head examined.

The Missouri Botanical Garden's web site said that the cherry blossoms were in full bloom last weekend. Um, not nearly, although some stuff was coming up. If, like me, English was your favorite subject in high school, you couldn't help but think of the e e cummings' poem we all loved so much:

in Just-
spring          when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman

whistles          far          and wee

and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring

when the world is puddle-wonderful

the queer
old balloonman whistles
far          and             wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing

from hop-scotch and jump-rope and

it's
spring
and

         the

                  goat-footed

balloonMan          whistles
far
and
wee
