Ellie Goes to the Symphony 2

I think the kid has been to a small scale circus in Powell Hall but never a performance of the symphony. Mrs. C and I have been subscribers to the SLSO for something over 40 years. It was a real pleasure to share with Ellie something that has been such an important part of our lives.

In the first picture, Ellie and our daughter Emily pose on the grand staircase, seen from above in the third photo. And, if she has a mind to, she knows how to pose.

The Champ

FIRST THINGS FIRST -  tickets for the 2018 St. Lou Fringe are now on sale. Go to https://www.stlouisfringe.com/ and buy, buy, buy!

So anyway, the winner of Act Your Pants Off by audience acclaim was Melissa Allen. Steamy, bursting with energy and, well, not at all shy. It was AYPO, after all, and she was one of the few performers who removed more than shoes and socks. She is also an aerial artist and will be performing at the festival next month.

Some People Were Happy

Nothing like a street full of sloppy bubbles to brighten your mood. I wonder what makes this so attractive. I'm sure it reminds people of fun times in childhood, but children are instantly attracted to bubbles without a reference point. My granddaughters sure are.

The Indomitable Donna Weinstein

Another personality from Act Your Pants off. The judges declared Donna Weinstein the overall winner. Decades of experience have given her a powerful stage presence. She acts like she owns the place and I think she did. Age has its privileges and the only clothing she removed was a strand or two of those big beads.

It's That Time Of Year

It's opening week of the St. Louis Cardinals' baseball season. Mrs. C, Emily, Madeleine and I attended last night, watching the local heroes drub Cincinnati 14-3.

Madeleine stayed relatively still! There wasn't much room to wiggle in the crowd and maybe she is growing out of that grab-the-camera-and-look-at-me phase. In the third picture, the Cincinnati center fielder unsuccessfully tries to grab one of the Cardinals' many home runs.
