CITY DAILY PHOTO AUGUST THEME - PURPLE

Purple skies and purple paint at the Fourth of July carnival in Webster Groves, the town where I live. City Daily Photo members from around the world drape themselves in the royal color at https://citydailyphoto.org/2026/07/23/august-gallery-purple/ .

CITY DAILY PHOTO AUGUST THEME - SWEETS

A cotton candy vendor at a St. Louis parade. Our health secretary Kennedy would tell you the spun sugar is poison. My granddaughter would tell you he’s nuts. She would be right on both counts.

CITY DAILY PHOTO AUGUST THEME - FRUIT

My long-time City Daily Photo friends know that, given the chance, I prefer not to take the monthly theme literally. While this photo is not specifically representative of my city, it is representative of my kitchen cupboard. Which is, it turn, somewhat representative of my city.

City Daily Photo members around the world tell us about their juicy favorites at https://citydailyphoto.org/category/theme-days/ .

CITY DAILY PHOTO AUGUST THEME - GARDEN

Gardens come in a myriad of varieties. Many of us have our own (although not this son of the concrete). The scene here is the annual orchid show at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis.
