STL DPB ON THE ROAD - HO HO HO

A Christmas tree farm outside of Midland, Michigan. The whole family went to pick out something for the kids to decorate. The outside displays were a bit over the top. Mrs. C and I don’t get worked up over the holidays. We’re not sentimental.

HAPPY EASTER

To those who celebrate it. When I first saw this I did a double-take - a Christmas tree at this time of year? A closer examination showed it to be covered with Easter eggs, carrots and little bunnies, with a cloth saying Happy Easter spread on the floor beneath it. It is in a lounge at a hospital where a family member has been admitted with serious issues for some time. That is the reason I have been offline for a while. Things are gradually improving, though.

NEURAL NETWORK

Loose associations again. This made me think of one of those diagrams of neurons and synapses, flickering and vibrating in a process that (may) lead to consciousness. It is the big municipal tree in a plaza downtown. Ordinary if you look from a distance, more interesting if you stick your lens into it.

I've run through the images from Garden Glow at the botanical garden and there are slim pickings around town these days. It's cold and gray but no snow. There are fewer outdoor decorations except for a few residential areas that traditionally go to extremes (there's an idea). The streets, like everywhere, are empty. Upcoming images may reflect that.

Municipal Tree

The holiday season in St. Louis officially began yesterday with an event in Kiener Plaza. The temporary ice rink opened and we took Ellie down for a spin (more about which tomorrow). The city's Christmas tree was illuminated after dark. The kid thought it was pretty cool.
