My Camera Went To The City Christmas Tree Lighting And All I Got Was This Lousy Picture Of Batman

Christmas With Batman

OMG was it crowded. Actually, there were a few more salvageable images that I'll drag through here.

Batman and Christmas, a traditional combination. Almost as good a Santa with his hands all over Ms. Missouri, which I may post tomorrow.

Christmas In Gotham City

.
Happy Holidays Citygarden

I took a lot of pictures downtown on Christmas Eve before and after sunset, something to occupy myself and keep out of the way while others were making dinner. The city center was nearly deserted. The video screen in Citygarden flashed back and forth between green on red and red on green while the AT&T Building loomed above in the gathering darkness.

It looked ominous, like a scene from a Batman movie. Does evil lurk beneath the Arch or on the other side of Busch Stadium? Quick, Bob, to the Batmobile!

STL CDPB On The Road: The Penguin

If someone were to say to me, "The penguin!", I would immediately think of:

A. Monty Python: "There's a penguin on the television!"

B. The Blues Brothers: the Penguin was the nun who ran the orphanage where Jake and Elwood were raised; or

C. Some Batman movie.

This version is a Miami Beach hotel on Ocean Avenue. I guess penguins do fly south for the winter. There were damn well none out on the street on this June day.
