We first met David Ottinger at last year's studio open house. He is a professor of art at nearby McKendree University and a painter of note. A common theme of his work involves multiple images of the same individual in some kind of struggle with him or herself. He's stuck himself in the middle of the action here.
You can't read the words on the button he's wearing in this small image. It says "Jennifer Weigel was here." She's the artist with the traveling exhibit in the back hatch of her car seen in Sunday's post.

belle peinture, cela me fait penser un peu a du Norman Rockwell
ReplyDeleteHe is an amazing artist Bob, the painting behind is excellent (I'm so never showing any of my attempts haha!) and how fantastic that he is so supportive of Jennifer and probably many more young artists.
ReplyDeleteI like the man's face and I like his art. I wish I could wander around talking to myself.
ReplyDeleteHe should of course be wearing a blue shirt when he is posing like this!
ReplyDeleteNice triptych.
nicely positioned. david ottinger looks a bit like one of the earlier incarnations of dr. who.
ReplyDeleteGood shot. He blends right in with his art!
ReplyDeleteDoes he want to paint me? I have struggles? Hahaha Are these friends? Does he do extended interview to learn about his subjects? I've got questions on this one.
ReplyDeleteAm enjoying this theme, Bob. Terrific shots!
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific, Bob. I like your photo and I like both the concept and the execution of his work.
ReplyDeleteanother great image and it is always wonderful to see the artist with their work. he has an interesting theme of seeing the challenges and thought porcesses a human goes through
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying this series of artists' portraits. Each is so unique. It must have been a fun photo shoot exercise too.

ReplyDeleteI enjoy how the artist takes his time with these subjects, it is a skill not seen to often with younger artist, even I should slow down while drawing sometimes. http://www.creativeautomaton.com/
