B&W Challenge, Day One

So there's this meme going around where somebody challenges somebody else to post black and white pictures for seven days, no people, no words. Nobody challenged me (sniff) but I don't have any better ideas so I'm just gonna do it.

We start in Citygarden with Tom Claasen's Two Rabbits. They look passive enough but those of us of a certain age cannot forget another apparently innocent bunny

I may have to hit the archives to finish this exercise but I'm interested in shooting some dead empty shopping malls on Thursday, Thanksgiving in the United States.

Easter Bunny

Didn't get to the garden yesterday. So, to have anything like an  Easter bunny theme, I had to resort to one of Tom Claasen's rabbits in Citygarden.

Not your typical bunny picture.  This was the first time playing with the new Digital Holga, just delivered on Friday. It's small, very light and really just a photographic toy. I was a little disappointed because the images were not as messy and unpredictable as the original film Holga. The vignetting is a bit hard and unnatural. The center is quite clear but sometimes you get some interesting spherical warping. A dash of Photoshop and a spritz of On 1 photo effects make the look perfect.

There's an album I started on Flickr with these. Probably try some more today.

Bunny For A (Lens)Baby

.
Our friend Virginia was on me a few days ago about a bunny picture. It got posted eventually. Well, I thought I'd throw in another one. This is Untitled (Two Rabbits) by Tom Claasen in Citygarden. It sounds like a contradiction to have an untitled work with a title. And there are in fact two rabbits in the garden but just one of them here. I was out trolling for shots in the garden with my Lensbaby. This one turned out okay.
