HA. GET IT?

Three French hens, right? Although, if you ask me, they look about as much like fat cranes.

I wish it was safe to go back to Paris. A certain other member of this group would be on a plane tomorrow if it were possible. I'm 70+, the better part of retired and have some savings. Mrs. C and I sometimes daydream about spending a month in the fall in London and a month in Paris in the spring. Maybe it will be possible. You never know. Actually, New York would be okay.               

AT THE POMPIDOU

Posts have been hit and miss. We got home Wednesday night, I was buried at work and we go out of town again Tuesday for a professional conference. At least there will be plenty to photograph there.

Anyway, we made our obligatory visit to the Pompidou, the museum of modern and contemporary art with its still-shocking architecture. It is as well known for the views from its terrace as for the works on display. There are breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre with Sacre Coeur on top.        

Au Revoir, Paris

It's Monday afternoon US Central Time as I write this in an American Airlines lounge in Chicago. Long ride home. One more short leg to go.

I'm glad to be back. It was a long trip for us, maybe a little too long. We love France and will return again but age is catching up and it's getting hard to trudge for hour after hour through tourist-choked cities. Maybe it's time for slower paced holidays. Hey, we're going to Tamarindo in February. That ought to work. 

I tried to shoot some non-postcard Eiffel Tower pictures yesterday. You, gentle reader, will decide if they work. Since I won't have any new local material for several days, I will sprinkle these pages with memories of La Belle France for a while longer.
