This is a city daily photo blog. I have no new stuff for my city so I have to use another one. How about back to Paris? Can't go wrong.
This was taken in a Greco-Roman sculpture hall at the Louvre. The subject is about to throw a mean split-finger fastball. I don't see another possible interpretation.
So okay, I'm desperate, but the Great Forest Park Balloon Race is today.

Definitely baseball....;) But the Romans seem to then be playing a sissified form of an Aztec called ullamaliztli or its Mayan equivalent, where you weren't even allowed to use your HANDS to get the 9-pound ball through that impossibly small ring you'll see if you click. Now THOSE were the days! ;)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your pics of the balloon glow/race!
ReplyDeleteGood detail shot, Bob!
ReplyDeleteThe balloons will give you enough photo material for a week or more.
Well, although you can't see 'em, might just be a high and hard two seamer! A Juan Marichal fastball?
ReplyDeleteThat sculpture is remarkably lifelike. If you told me it was a photograph of your neighbor preparing to throw a pitch, I would have believed it.
ReplyDeleteI did not know that! But you must be right.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Great detail!
