Although it hasn't frozen solid here in more than a century, the Mississippi gets churning ice flows during a cold snap. The water comes from the north, after all.
This was taken from my new office window. Beautiful old Eads Bridge is on the right, while the shadow of its arches covers the river and its banks. The water level is very low.

beau b&w, avec cette neige cela donne une impression de se trouver dans le désert
ReplyDeleteLove the arch shadows Bob, you have a pretty great view from your new office.
ReplyDeleteNippy, nippy for sure. Good BW
ReplyDeleteBob, looks great!
ReplyDeleteLove the arch shadows. you have a whole new ballgame to shoot now.

It doesn't even look like a river anymore...
ReplyDeleteExcellent angle to shoot from. Given how much winter is hitting points north on the river and on the Missouri, the spring thaw could be an interesting one.
ReplyDeleteDidn't venture to our Mississippi; it was too cold!
ReplyDeleteThose arched shadows are wonderful. It seems that the water level in the Mississippi careens from too low to too high and back to too low. It rarely seems just right.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot. Like it.
